Bio

Amy is a mom of four young adults, with four in college. She is learning to navigate this new stage of “motherhood”, but has not totally embraced it yet.  Amy has been happily married for 26 years and is grateful that she still enjoys spending time with her husband.  They look forward to planning their retirement on a lake or beach somewhere and dream of their children visiting often or, better yet, choosing to live nearby- next door would be ideal!  Ironically, she lives amongst a family of golfers and is the only one that does not golf but enjoys watching them compete as the family cheerleader.  Amy’s wellness activities include reading, hiking, exercise, yoga and time with her family.

Amy earned her masters in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in 1995, getting the opportunity to live in New York City for three years.  She has had her dream job for 29 years as a Pediatric Physical Therapist; the majority of her career has been spent working with babies and toddlers in their homes with their families through Early Intervention.  She feels blessed to really love her job.  Serving families and children with developmental delays has made her heart full and gives her a baby “fix” on a daily basis.

Over the years, Amy has realized there is a need for resources for families beyond Early Intervention and the importance of engaging children and families in their natural environments, especially the great outdoors.  With that realization, Amy recently became a Certified Forest School teacher to help parents navigate and find balance in the difficult aspects of life.  It takes a village to raise children. Amy views her role to include discussions with parents about exercise, health, and overall wellness.  Evolve Nature Therapy is her dream for helping to create that village and expose families to the vast benefits of spending time in nature to optimize learning, strengthening and the multisensory experience.
